Cette observation sugg\u00e8re qu\u2019une approche r\u00e9gionale de l\u2019hydrolien peut contribuer \u00e0 lisser partiellement la production globale.<\/p><p data-start=\"4014\" data-end=\"4205\">Consid\u00e9r\u00e9 non comme une installation ponctuelle mais comme un ensemble g\u00e9ographiquement r\u00e9parti, l\u2019hydrolien peut ainsi participer de mani\u00e8re plus structur\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9quilibre du mix \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique.<\/p><h4 data-start=\"3604\" data-end=\"6124\">accro\u00eetre la surface expos\u00e9e au courant.<\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"6144\" data-end=\"6277\">Cette strat\u00e9gie peut am\u00e9liorer la r\u00e9gularit\u00e9 de production, mais elle entra\u00eene simultan\u00e9ment une augmentation des efforts m\u00e9caniques.<\/p><p data-start=\"6279\" data-end=\"6508\">Les charges hydrodynamiques \u00e9voluent en effet avec le carr\u00e9 de la vitesse et augmentent \u00e9galement avec la surface sollicit\u00e9e. Il ne doit pas \u00eatre confondu avec la puissance disponible dans le courant, ni avec le rendement \u00e9lectrique final<\/p><p data-start=\"466\" data-end=\"819\">La puissance contenue dans un courant marin ne peut pas \u00eatre r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9e int\u00e9gralement par une hydrolienne. Le rotor ralentit l\u2019eau qui le traverse, mais il doit aussi laisser le fluide s\u2019\u00e9couler en aval : une machine qui arr\u00eaterait totalement le courant ne produirait plus rien. C\u2019est pourquoi on introduit un <strong data-start=\"775\" data-end=\"805\">coefficient de performance<\/strong>, not\u00e9 <strong data-start=\"812\" data-end=\"818\">Cp<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"821\" data-end=\"1189\">Ce coefficient exprime la part de la puissance cin\u00e9tique du courant effectivement transform\u00e9e en puissance m\u00e9canique sur l\u2019arbre du rotor, avant les pertes de transmission, de g\u00e9n\u00e9ratrice et d\u2019\u00e9lectronique de puissance. Un Cp de <strong data-start=\"1050\" data-end=\"1058\">0,40<\/strong> signifie donc qu\u2019environ <strong data-start=\"1084\" data-end=\"1092\">40 %<\/strong> de la puissance disponible dans la surface balay\u00e9e par le rotor est capt\u00e9e sous forme m\u00e9canique.<\/p><p data-start=\"1191\" data-end=\"1573\">La limite th\u00e9orique dite <strong data-start=\"1216\" data-end=\"1234\">limite de Betz<\/strong> fixe un plafond \u00e0 <strong data-start=\"1253\" data-end=\"1263\">59,3 %<\/strong>. Elle ne correspond pas au rendement r\u00e9el d\u2019une hydrolienne industrielle, mais \u00e0 une limite physique id\u00e9ale.
